NCUE students
Email Prof. Yang with your CV, transcript, and one paragraph on which research area interests you and why. Undergraduates: mention the course or project you want to join.
The lab takes NCUE master’s students, undergraduate project students, and international students through TEEP and IIPP.

TEEP (Taiwan Experience Education Program, Ministry of Education) and IIPP (International Internship Pilot Program, National Science and Technology Council) bring international students to the lab for research internships of three to six months (program rules are on the program websites). Write to us with your intended dates, background, and a topic from our research areas; we answer other questions by email.
We meet every week to go over each other’s progress and new papers. Outside research, there is a year-end dinner (wei-ya) and the occasional pizza party.
We engage in international collaborations and cultural exchange programs to broaden our perspectives and adopt global AI practices.
Two lab papers at the IET International Conference on Engineering Technologies and Applications, Chinese Culture University, Taipei, 25–27 October 2024: the two-step voice and face authentication poster, and an oral talk on LSTM current prediction and harmonic analysis in solar power systems.
An internship lasts three to six months. Application periods follow the TEEP and IIPP program announcements; for anything else, email the lab.
Digital signal processing (short-time Fourier transform, discrete wavelet transform, digital filtering) and machine learning with LSTM and general regression neural networks, simulated and analyzed in MATLAB and Python, then implemented on embedded hardware such as FPGA boards. Recent topics are listed on the International Programs page.
Programming in Python and MATLAB for signal processing and machine learning, and C or C++.
Each intern works on a project, hands in a weekly report and attends a weekly meeting.
Students share the lab’s equipment for model training, prototyping and deployment.
